Positive/Negative Effects to the Land: Positive: The lava and ash deposited provides valuable nutrients for the soil, making it very fertile and great for agriculture. The high level of heat and activity inside the earth can provide opportunities for generating geothermal energy. Volcanoes also provide valuable resources, such as zinc, copper, sulfur, arsenic, and lead. Negative: It can destroy homes, livestock and sometimes people in localized areas and produce excessive amounts of carbon dioxide and ash which is pumped into the atmosphere.
Journal Day 1 First step: we glued together the Styrofoam pieces to make the basic skeleton. Second Step: we shaved the edges. Third Step: we glued the skeleton to a base. Fourth Step: we put down the first layer of clay.
Journal Day 2 No Progress
Journal Day 3 First Step: we added the second layer of clay. Second Step: we sprayed a layer of adhesive, then we added the first layer of sand. Third Step: we repeated the second step two more times.
Journal Day 4 First Step: we put the layer of paint on.
